The Jasper Eagles boys basketball team continues to impress people.
After four straight overtime wins, Jasper finally met their match when they played #2 ranked
Lockwood in the Golden City tournament. The fourth ranked Eagles had already surpassed number 5 ranked liberal in overtime and number one ranked
Everton in overtime.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 17-10 first quarter lead, with the help of part of Jared Swann's team high 15 points.
But the eagles would turn over the ball too many times, which would prove costly for them in the end.
Also, having Swann ejected from the game didn't help the eagles too much. Midway through the 4th quarter, the
Eagles needed to foul. Swann's foul proved to be just a little bit harder than needed, as he literally knocked the
Lockwood player five feet and into the bleachers head first. He would be ejected for his hit, and the
Eagles would never get closer than eight points after that.
Even with the loss, Jasper capped an impressive 5 game run, although it didn't end
how they'd have liked it too, Jasper came away with second place in the tournament, having gone in ranked fourth.
The final score, Lockwood 59, Jasper 46.
